Why Scentsy Candles?

Who doesn’t have a candle in their home? We would be surprised to find anyone who doesn’t have candles or even air fresheners in their homes. Our candles are unique in that they are Lead Free, Soot Free and Wick Free. They have a better scent throw than any other candle out there. They are safe around children and pets and if tipped over, the wax will not burn you nor will it catch on fire. You can’t go wrong with our candles and warmers.

Isn’t 250,000 consultants a lot?

NO! There are actually only about 150,000 consultants that are active.(selling on a monthly basis) Look at it like name recognition! It makes selling your business to customers easier. They will have already heard of Scentsy. The key is to offer better customer service than any other candle business! Do I get products at a discount? 

What’s better than a discount? We can teach you how to receive a ton of FREE product and business supplies! This means that you don’t ever have to personally purchase items for yourself unless you choose to host Fairs and Exposes. In that case, you’ll want to have a lot of product on hand to sell. Most of the on hand products we have we’ve gotten for FREE. It’s scentsational!

Do I have to sell anything to remain an active consultant? 

To keep your Down line you must sell $150 in retail sales, in one single month, in a 3 month period to remain an active consultant. This is very easy to do. If you just have one party every 3 months – sounds good right?

How much money can I make? 

As a new Consultant you will earn 20% on your own sales. As you build your business you have the opportunity to make up to 39% of your own sales and leadership bonuses of up to 9% of the entire down line volume of the people you recruit and train to sell Scentsy products.

How do I get paid commission and bonuses? 

For In-Person sales: You collect the retail price (plus tax* and shipping** if applicable) from customers via cash, checks or credit card. For Online orders: Sales tax and payment are handled by Scentsy Corporate. Scentsy pays commissions and bonuses on the 10th of each month by loading a special pay card. Canadian consultants are paid via mailed check. Commissions are paid on the prior months sales and promotional rankings. (you must sell $500 in the previous month to qualify for the leadership bonus and earn overrides from your team). 

* The tax rate is based on the zip code where the order will be shipped. Most orders will be shipped to you so check with your local state or county government to find out what your tax rate is (sometimes there is more than one tax rate for an area so check which one is for non-food items). If an order will be shipped to someone’s home directly, charge the tax rate for that destination. 

** Shipping is free on party orders of $150 or more unless the customer wants the order shipped directly to a specific address instead of to the consultant or hostess. Then there is a 10% shipping charge (20% to addresses in Hawaii or Alaska). All Canadian party orders that are over $200 qualify for 10% shipping. All other Canadian orders are charged a minimum of 20% shipping.

What payment types can I accept from customers? Are there credit card processing fees? 

You can accept personal or business checks made payable to you, cash or credit cards (American Express, Visa, Discover, Master Card). Consultants do not pay credit card processing fees. Really, it’s up to you and your preference. Just because you can accept checks, payable to you, doesn’t mean that you have to accept that form of payment.

Do I have to buy a lot of inventory and keep it stocked to host parties? 

No! You only order the products when customers order from you. You can be very successful by just showing the products that come with your starter kit if you want. You’ll also be able to earn Free and discounted products from party orders that you personally enter. Additionally, many consultants have never hosted parties and make thousands of dollars monthly from their Internet sales. This business is very flexible and cost effective.

What types of Scentsy Parties are there? 

Any event can become a party. Have a friend host a Home Party, Basket Party, Scent Event (catalog party with small scent samples your hostess can take to work, Bunko, Bowling, Family gatherings, etc.) and collect orders and re-orders. Fairs, Expos, School Holiday Stores, etc. Your Scentsy Handbook has complete information as does our Team Site. You may Not sell Scentsy products through retail establishments, Ebay or online auctions.

Is there training available?

Absolutely! We’ll personally train you. we’ll make sure you’re ready for your first party and answer any questions you have after that and we help you with organizing and placing your orders. We send our team monthly newsletter, have weekly training/information webinars, and all the person-to-person training you need. Scentsy also has corporate led trainings, meetings, conventions, etc.

What do I do if I have a question? 

Read the handbook as soon as you sign up. It’s available in the Business Builders section of our Team Training site and under the resources tab in your Scentsy online workstation. It answers most of your basic questions but you can always call us. Another source for answers is the Scentsy Forum available through your consultant workstation. Check it for postings on a topic you’re interested in. News updates are also posted from the company on your Scentsy consultant workstation. If you can’t reach us or others in our up-line, and you haven’t found what you’re looking for, make a quick call to Scentsy at 1-877-855-0617

Do I have to make my own website or does Scentsy provide one for me? 

Online sales and reorders are a big part of our business. You can subscribe to a Scentsy sponsored website so clients can order and reorder whenever it’s convenient for them. Your website subscription is free for the first three months after you sign up and $10 a month after that. If you choose to create a website that is not sponsored by Scentsy, there are certain restrictions. See the Policy and Procedures manual for complete information. Newsletter – You’ll also receive a free Scentsy newsletter for clients (I Make News) that Scentsy creates and sends to your list of clients through once a month emails. You just set up the email list in the Newsletter Management section of your consultant workstation and upload your contacts.

How often are the products and catalogs updated? 

Twice a year in March and September. Consultants can purchase the new catalogs and scent samples in February and August when the new and discontinued products are announced.

How do I get marketing materials and business supplies? 

Business supplies (catalogs, order forms, scent samples, generic business cards and invitations) are available to order through your Scentsy consultant workstation.

Marketing Materials (custom business cards, invitations, banners, clothing, pens, buttons, yard signs, etc.) are available through Scentsy Family store. This site is run by Ann Dalton Design and is an approved retailer of marketing materials for Scentsy and is now incorporated via your Scentsy Workstation.

Fliers for monthly specials are available to download and print in the Business Builders section of your consultant workstation.

Create your own – If you’d like, you can make your own fliers, invitations, etc., just get approval from Scentsy before printing and distributing (adapproval@scentsy.com).

Wait a minute, how can you be the best sponsor for me if I’m in Canada and you’re in Colorado? How does that work? 

Well, I currently have consultants all across the US and working to expand into different countries. Because I work my business full time I am available to answer questions either online or over the phone, sometimes even better, than a local sponsor who works their business part or even full-time can do. I understand the Scentsy Family now Includes 2 other brands, do I have to sell all of them? 

No, The great part about this business is you can sign up to sell any one of the brands, and later if you feel like expanding your business you can sign up to sell the other ones later on. Scentsy Family is just giving you another opportunity to grow and expand your business in different ways. Find what you are comfortable with and make a decision based on that. If you feel like selling Scentsy Fragrance to start and later move to sell Grace Adele too, this is perfectly okay!

Can I make shooting star with each brand I sign up for?

Yes! You have the potential to hit shooting star for each brand that sign up for. Shooting start is obtaining $500 or more in PRV with in the first 15 days. Each brand has its own shooting star enhancement kit. This kit is valued at way more than you pay for it! Its another opportunity to expand and grow your business.

Great! How do I sign up to be a consultant? 

You sign up through my Scentsy Website. Just click on the JOIN tab and away you go!

Follow the instructions and, once you’ve agreed to the terms and conditions, filled out all of your information and picked a name for your personal website and paid for your starter kit, a consultant number will be assigned to you. Scentsy will then contact you through email and give you a URL for your personal Scentsy website where customers can begin ordering. We will also send you a Welcome letter within 24hrs which will give you the password to our Team Site, instructions on how to enter your Scentsy Workstation and much, much more!

***Consider qualifying for the Shooting Star Enhancement Kit. To qualify you have 15 days from the day you sign up to place an order or orders totaling $500.
